Spanninga offers a range of state-of-the-art bicycle lighting products to both OEM bicycle manufacturers and the aftermarket. Spanninga OEM products are supplied upon customer specification ; aftermarket products come in customer-ready packaging, complete with batteries and the Spanninga after-sales service is up to the reputation of the company. 

Thanks to strong communication and teamwork, a highly qualified research and development team and various production sites all around the world, the group has often pioneered the market with its groundbreaking technologies. Spanninga products feature then the newest technology (automatic, semi-automatic or hand switch on/off), safety (standlight, light sensor, blinking) and low energy consumption. 

As a major development, Spanninga has developed the ‘LED reverse-beam technology’ that uses only ¼ of the energy of a regular bulb for the same intensity and with hardly any heat loss. The LED light is projected backwards onto a mirror directing it into a powerful conical beam.

In a low visibility environment, the rearlight is the 1st security of the cyclist to be seen from the back and then avoided by the approaching traffic. Most of accidents happening at road junctions, it was also important to offer a good side visibility.
Our R&D Team has developed a unique technology providing an optimal spread of the LED light on the sides of the rearlight: the ‘light guide technology’. It captures the lateral light coming from the LED and brings it with minimum loss on the sides of the rearlight. The visibility of the rearlight is increased up to an angle of 220° with optimal light output.

Transparent optics offer many more design possibilities: the shapes become smoother and distinctive, making the light all the more exceptional. The ‘clear lens technology’ doesn't allow only design extra possibilities, it gives the LED the best output possible. Lenses generally help the mirror diffusing the light beam more broadly. Clear lenses provide an optimal reflection capacity to the mirror in different points. So with this technology you don't have to make any concession between design and security!
